With my basement studio space still out of commission I have taken on a few mastering projects which I can do in a smaller room. Darren Bignell's project is the latest of these; I mastered the song and did the single artwork you see below. The song was recorded at Red Rising Recording and features Quintin Bignell on drums, Ken Henderson and Myles Tarvis on guitars.
The song is now available on iTunes, you can purchase it here:
This one is a mastering project. My good friends Quintin and Steve are working on a few tracks at Red Rising Recording for their "Wazzchild" project. "Daydream Nightmare" is the first track to be released and they asked me to master it! I also put together the trendy cover art for their single.

On June 20, my basement and studio space flooded during a heavy rain storm in Winnipeg. Due to ongoing clean up, renos and upgrades I have had to delay a few projects including the next Brainwashed Proper Citizens EP. Since it's now been over a year since the last EP, I decided to release one of the completed songs - "Apart". The track is available digitally pretty much everywhere... and you can download it for free right now on Bandcamp.
"Strands in Time" has been a 7 year project. I met Heida in 2004 through a friend of a friend who had recorded in my studio. She came in from Swan River; at the time I was doing the studio thing from a small apartment in north-Winnipeg. We recorded a few acoustic tracks, Heida headed home and I worked away on overdubs. Over the next few years Heida would come for short visits to record, drink coffee, and chat about family, friends, and her horses. This summer, we finalized our 6th collaboration and rounded out the album with some older cuts. Two of these were plucked from an old cassette recorded by Brandon Friesen and Danny Schur at Sunshine Records. The other two were recorded by Del Clark of Studio One in Brandon, MB.
The CD is currently available at Heida's shows, you can connect with her on Facebook:
I have been writing and recording demos of my own music for the last ten years or so... the last time I released any of my own music would have been in 2002 with no point intended (Amped Vol. 1). I recently polished up 3 of the more recent songs and released them under the name "Brainwashed Proper Citizens", which some may recognize as the name of a project I started back in The Pas with Jo Johnson. This time I around I am performing everything on the entire release, though I hope to bring in more guest musicians/vocalists in the future.
Here it is, "Street Lights in Stereo", a 3-song digital EP by Brainwashed Proper Citizens. The EP is available at all major digital retailers including Bandcamp. I should point out that Bandcamp gives you the unique opportunity to obtain the EP in a lossless (FLAC) format and also includes digital liner notes in PDF format.

Jamie's first release "Renovations" was released in 2008 and was completely arranged in the studio. Production on "What Are You Waiting For" began well over a year ago, this time in a live, band setting. I played bass in Jamie's band and we worked out live arrangements for many of the new songs before starting on the studio versions. I think this resulted in a more organic and collaborative sound this time around. I'm really excited for everyone to hear it!

2010 marks the 10 year anniversary of my first album recording... No Point Intended's "the 24 #*@%'en hours EP", most of which was tracked in a single 24 hour session (for two reasons - this was the longest we could stay awake; and the longest we could use some of the borrowed gear).
The entire catalogue of the band's recordings (four releases between 2000-2002) is now available for digital download (pay what you want) over at
As an added bonus, I have included two newly mixed cover tracks that were recorded as part of the same 24 hour session, but were never released until now (look for the Mallrats Demo).
waNda wilsoN's "2 Pennies" has been released as a digital single. The track can be purchased at CDBaby and iTunes.
